ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a process for removing calcium oxalate scale from a metal surface which comprises contacting it with an aqueous mixture containing from 3% to 25% by weight of nitric acid and from 1% to 10% by weight of manganese dioxide, at a temperature between 20°C. and 95°C., said metal surface being compatible with said mixture.
