ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for removing copper from a copper anode slime resulting from copper electrolysis, which comprises leaching the copper anode slime with a sulfuric acid solution containing ferric ion. Valuable metals contained in the copper anode slime can thereafter be separated individually. The ferrous ion occurring in the resulting copper leached liquor can be regenerated to ferric ion so that after separation of the copper, the leached liquor can be recycled for use as the sulfuric acid solution.
