Case 7621(2) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE PROCESS FOR REMOVING IODIDE COMPOUNDS FROM CARBOXYLIC ACIDS AND/OR ANHYDRIDES A process for removing iodide compounds from a liquid carboxylic acid, such as acetic acid and/or its corresponding carboxylic acid anhydride by contacting the liquid with an ion exchange resin having functional groups which each have at least one sulphur donor atom and at least one percent of which are occupied by silver, palladium and/or mercury. Suitable resin functional groups include thiol and substituted thiol groups.
