A process for deNOxing combustion flue gases, in particular flue gases produced in an incineration plant, in which a reducing agent, which gives off ammonia at the reaction temperature, is added to the combusted gases in the post-combustion. The ammonia-containing flue gases are cooled downstream of the post-combustion. The reducing agent is once more added to the cooled ammonia-containing flue gases, and the flue gases treated in this way are subsequently fed to a catalyst element in order to catalyze the reduction of nitrogen oxides.
