A flotation process for removing toner particles from photocopied paper which utilizes the following compound as a collector: Image wherein R is an alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or allyl group having from 4-28 carbon atoms and, preferably from 6-10 carbon atoms, and M represents an alkali metal, or alkaline earth metal radical or a hydrogen atom.
