Procédé d'épuration d'une solution aqueuse de chlorure de métal alcalin en composés iodés et en composés ammoniacaux, dans lequel on opère en deux étapes successives comprenant une première étape dans laquelle on oxyde lis composés iodés en iode moléculaire que l'on élimine de la solution sur une résine échangeuse d'anions, basique, halogénée et une seconde étape dans laquelle on oxyde les composés ammoniacaux pour former de l'azote que l'on évacue dans un courant de gaz inerte.
