ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is directed to a process for separat- ing other sulfur compounds from a gaseous mixture containing one or more mercaptans, and other sulfur compounds. The invention surprisingly makes it possible to absorb all sulfur components from gaseous mixtures with the exception of mercaptans. The invention is further directed to specific processes for the monitoring of mercaptans, as well as for the purification of mercaptans.
