PROCESS FOR SEPARATING SOLIDS FROM OILS SUMMARY An edible oil mixture containing a liquid phase and crystalline solids is at least partially separated by centrifugal separation. In the process the centrifugal force is sufficiently high to cause separation of liquid from solid so that the liquid is removed from solid and the space occupied by the liquid is replaced by the atmosphere. The average period of time during which the solid components are subjected to the centrifugal force is less than 2 minutes and the solids cake formed is continuously advanced mechanically or centrifugally or by a combination of both over a surface in a direction which is at an angle relative to the direction of the centri- fugal force.
