PROCESS FOR SHUCKING A MOLLUSK Abstract of the Disclosure Raw mollusks at room temperature are fed to a crusher wherein a mechanical shock is introduced to the mollusks with the magnitude of the shock being sufficient to release attachment between the mollusk meat and the mollusk shell by rapidly accelerating and then rapidly decelerating the mollusks using a rotating roller having a minimum surface speed of about 2800 feet per minute.
