The present invention relates to a process for the simultaneous recovery and cracking/upgrading of oil from solids such as tar sand and oil shale. With this process a number of the obstacles with the existing technology are solved, and the process upgrades the oil into a lighter product than the existing technology, remove sulphur in the order of 40% and heavy metals in the order of 90%.

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant simultanément de récupérer ainsi que de craquer/raffiner le pétrole à partir de solides comme les sables ou les schistes bitumineux. Ce procédé résout un certain nombre des problèmes associés aux technologies actuelles; en outre, il permet de raffiner le pétrole en fractions plus légères que celles obtenues par les technologies actuelles, en retirant le soufre dans une proportion de l'ordre de 40 %, et les métaux lourds, dans une proportion de l'ordre de 90%.
