ABSTRACT PROCESS FOR STABILIZING CHLORINATED POLYETHYLENE AGAINST DEGRADATION Chlorinated polyethylene is protected against degradation by adding a water-insoluble antioxidant to the chlorinated polyethylene. The antioxidant has a melting point of less than 100 °C. The antioxidant is added after the chlorinated polyethylene has been produced by chlorination of polyethylene in an aqueous suspension and before the produced chlorinated polyethylene is dried.
