ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein is a method for stabilizing the viscosity of polyvinyl acetal resins, especially those resins used as interlayers for laminated safety glass. The disclosed process comprises incorporating a buffer having a pH in the range of from 3 to 7 into the plasticized polyvinyl acetal.
