L'invention est relative à un nouveau procédé de synthèse d'un carbodiimide disubstitué comprenant une première étape de phosgénation, en milieu solvant organique, d'une urée N,N'-disubstituée. Après cette première étape, sans isoler au préalable de composé intermédiaire, on ajoute de l'ammoniac dans le milieu réactionnel. Le procédé est simple, peu onéreux et le rendement élevé. Les carbodiimides disubstitués sont des intermédiaires de synthèse organique, notamment utilisés en chimie pharmaceutique comme agents de couplage en synthèse peptidique.
