109/DLR57 18484 TITLE OF THE INVENTION A PROCESS FOR THE 14a-HYDROXYLATION OF AVERMECTIN COMPOUNDS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Avermectin compounds are hydroxylated the 14a position by adding the avermectin compounds to the fermentation medium of Streptomyces lavendulae. In addition, other changes are effected in the avermectin moiety such as epimerization at the 13-carbon. The compounds are active anthelmintic and antiparasitic agents and compositions for such uses are also disclosed.
