ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved process for the continuous melt thermo- forming of articles of substantially uniform thickness is dis- closed. The improvement comprises the step of extruding a flat web of an admixture of an aliphatic polyamide, of a blowing agent in a continuous melt thermoforming process. The blowing agent is a carbonate or basic carbonate of zinc, iron or copper. The preferred blowing agent is zinc carbon- ate. Examples of aliphatic polyamides are polyexamethylene adipamide, polycaprolcatam, poly-ll-aminoundecanoic acid and co- polymers of adipic acid and hexamethylene diamine with capro- lactam and/or sebacic acid. Articles of foamed polyamide are produced in the process. Substantially inflexible containers comprised of foamed aliphatic polyamide are also disclosed.
