ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides in a process for the continuous overlap welding of thermoplastic sheets or panels by heating and compressing the facing overlapping surfaces, the improvement in which an additional material in the thermo- plastic state is introduced between the surfaces being joined. The invention also provides a device for effecting said process which comprises a guide frame, apparatus for performing the process according to claim 1 comprising a guide frame, a device for heating the overlapping surfaces mounted in the guide frame, an extruder having a nozzle for the additional material, said nozzle passing between the said surfaces mounted in the guide frame and a pressure device mounted on the guide frame.
