Abstract A process for the production of shaped articles from curable and foamable phenolresol resin mixtures is disclosed. According to the process, components of the resin are mixed using a twin-screw extruder, the exit of which is preferably constructed as a slot die. Shaping of the foamed body during foaming and curing is preferably carried out on a twin-belt press. Resin mixtures prepared according to the process of the invention are homogenous and readily flowable. The process is simple, continuous and free of many disadvantages of known processes serving the same purpose.
