ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for controlling the flow of a suspension, especially a high temperature lubricant in the form of graphite and polymer suspended in water and having a viscosity of 1,000 to 20,000 cP at a temperature of up to 250 bars and a current velocity of up to 120 m/sec, uses a valve to connect and disconnect the flow. Closing and opening times of the valve of 2 to 20 milliseconds are maintained. The valve preferably is a piston valve.
