PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: Un procédé de transformation d'un ester d'acide chiral d'alcool secondaire .alpha.-cyané optiquement actif en ester d'acide chiral d'alcool secondaire .alpha.-cyané racémique, qui consiste essen- tiellement à soumettre ledit ester d'alcool optiquement actif à un traitement basique en milieu soluble et à isoler l'ester d'alcool racémique obtenu. Ce procédé ne comporte qu'une seule étape, simple dans ses manipulations, n'utilise qu'un volume réduit de solvant, n'oblige pas à avoir secours à des réactifs coûteux, et permet d'obtenir un rendement presque quantitatif en ester d'alcool racémique.
