Abstract of the Disclosure A process for removing t-butyl or t-amyl groups from a polymer by contacting the polymer with a sulfonic acid under essentially anhydrous conditions. The process is adapted especially to homopolymers and copolymers of t-butyl or t-amyl glycidyl ethers. By maintaining the water concentration at 1 weight percent about 99% of the t-butyl groups are removed.
