"PROCESS FOR THE DEHYDROCYCLIZATION OF ALIPHATIC HYDROCARBONS TO AROMATICS USING WATER ADDITION TO IMPROVE ACTIVITY" ABSTRACT A dehydrocyclization process for the selective conversion of light hydrocarbons to aromatics using a nonacidic L-zeolite is greatly enhanced by the addition of water, water precursors, or mixtures thereof to the reaction zone during the dehydrocyclization reaction in an amount corresponding to 10 and 100 wt. ppm H2O based on weight of the light hydrocarbon feed. The improvement, more specifically, results in a higher product yield of aromatics with increased product octane.
