Pour obtenir en service une émission acoustique réduite, on détermine la position du point de contact réel P de la roue (1) avec le rail, on ajuste la répartition des masses de la section de la jante (4) et de la toile (3) de la roue (1) pour que le point de contact P, le centre d'inertie G1 de la section de la jante (4) et le centre d'inertie G2 de la section de la toile (3) se trouvent sur une même droite (XX') perpendiculaire à l'axe (YY') et on ajuste le tracé de la section de la roue (1) pour que le point P soit un noeud de vibrations pour les modes axiaux de vibrations de la jante (4). L'invention s'applique en particulier aux roues pour trains à grande vitesse.
