A process for the dismutation of chlorosilanes is proposed. In this process chlorosilanes are passed over a catalyst that is either unmoulded or in the form of pellets and consists of four different organopolysiloxane compounds carrying substantially an amino or ammonium grouping as functional group and is crosslinked when required, the chlorosilanes being passed over the catalyst either in the form of a gas during 0.01 to 100 seconds at 55 to 100°C or as a liquid during 1 to 1000 seconds at 25 to 55°C.
