Frankfurt, 22.05.1992 PAT/bin-sei Hoe 92/Y007 Hoechst Aktienqesellschaft, 6230 Frankfurt am Main 80 Abstract The present invention relates to a process for the elimination of metal carbonyl compounds from gases. Metal carbonyl compounds serve as catalysts in a series of industrial processes, for example in carbonylations. In this case, waste gases are frequently produced which, in addition to gaseous starting materials, also contain the metal carbonyls used as the catalyst and secondary products and decomposition products thereof. The gases are reacted with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution. During this, the metal passes into the aqueous solution as a water-soluble compound.
