PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION Procédé de fabrication d'un mélange d'alcools primaires satu- rés par réaction d'oxydes de carbone avec l'hydrogène en présence d'un catalyseur formé essentiellement des éléments suivants : le cuivre, le cobalt, le zinc, au moins un métal A choisi dans le groupe formé par les métaux alcalins et alcalino-terreux et éventuelle- ment le zirconium et/ou au moins un métal M choisi dans le groupe for- mé par le scandium, l'yttrium et les métaux des terres rares, et/ou au moins un métal N choisi dans le groupe formé par les métaux nobles du groupe VIII, la proportion pondérale de chaque élément métallique étant de: cuivre 15-55%, cobalt 5-25%, zinc 15-70 %, métal A 0,01-5 %, zirconium 0-55%, métal M 0-20%, métal N 0-1%, la somme des pourcen- tages en poids de zinc et du zirconium par rapport au poids total des métaux étant de 15 à 70% et les rapports atomiques entre ces métaux étant de Cu/Co 0,2: 1 à 5 : 1, Zn/(Zn + Zr) 0,05 : 1 à 1 : 1 et (Zn + Zr)/Co 0,5 : 1 à 8 : 1. Le catalyseur peut être préparé par complexation ou par coprécipitation des éléments catalytiques.
