PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention a pour objet un procédé de fabrication de polybutadiène hydroxylé à partir d'un monomère diénique en présence de peroxyde et d'un solvant, dans lequel le solvant est récupéré par distillation. Ce procédé qui permet d'éviter au moins deux inconvénients des procédés connus, à savoir celui de conduire à un rejet de sels et celui d'autoriser les impuretés contenues dans le mélange solvant, le sel ajouté et leurs produits d'évolution, à pénétrer en distillation, est avantageusement caractérisé en ce qu'avant distillation, le mélange contenant le solvant est soumis à l'action d'un hydroxyde de métal alcalin ou de l'hydrazine. Le mélange ainsi traité et duquel est éliminée la phase organique qui s'en sépare au repos peut être vaporisé par ébullition pour former un courant gazeux qui entre en distillation.
