On peut effectuer la réaction sous pression, mais également à la pression atmosphérique normale ou au voisinage de la pression atmosphérique normale (notamment entre 0,10 bar et 2 bar). Le produit (Ia) ou (Ib) formé est, dans ce dernier cas, récupéré en continu au fur et à mesure de sa formation. Image (Ia) ; Image (Ib) Image (IIa) ; Image (IIb) ; R3-(CH2)n-X (III) R1, R2 = radicaux hydrocarbonés, acycliques ou cycliques, saturés ou insaturés, éventuellement substitués ; R3 = alkyle perhalogéné en C1-C10 ; O < n S 4 ; X = halogène. Les applications des (méth)acrylates d'alkyle fluorés obtenus sont notamment : peintures anti-poussière ou anti-salissure pour différents supports comme les revêtements extérieurs, le mobilier métallique ; fibres optiques lentilles de contact ; lithographie ; électrophotographie ; matériaux résistants à la chaleur ; résines dentaires.
