Disclosed is a method for graphitizing cathode blocks used for the electrolytic production of aluminum according to the longitudinal graphitization method. The cathode blocks are arranged in a longitudinal graphitizing oven in such a way that current conduction between the individual electrode blocks is established by a conductive contact body which touches the end surfaces of two adjacent electrode blocks and has an upward-facing extension on the side facing the top side of the oven. Also disclosed are the cathode blocks produced by the inventive method and the use thereof for the electrolytic reduction of aluminum oxide.
L'invention concerne un procédé de graphitisation de blocs cathodiques utilisés pour la production électrolytique d'aluminium selon le procédé de la graphitisation longitudinale. Le procédé selon l'invention est caractérisé en ce que les blocs cathodiques sont disposés dans un four de graphitisation longitudinale de façon que la liaison conductrice entre les blocs cathodiques individuels soit établie par l'intermédiaire d'un corps de contact conducteur touchant les surfaces terminales de deux blocs cathodiques successifs et comportant un appendice ascendant au niveau du côté faisant face à la surface supérieure du four. L'invention se rapporte en outre aux blocs cathodiques ainsi produits et à leur utilisation dans le cadre de la réduction électrolytique d'oxyde d'aluminium.
