L'invention concerne un procédé d'hydroconversion en phase slurry de charges hydrocarbonées lourdes liquides contenant du soufre, en présence d'hydrogène et en présence d'un catalyseur solide ledit catalyseur étant obtenu à partir d'une solution aqueuse formée d'au moins un sel de cobalt et/ou de nickel d'au moins un hétéropolyanion combinant dans sa structure du molybdène et du cobalt ou du molybdène et du nickel. La solution aqueuse est introduite dans une huile hydrocarbonée contenant des asphaltènes et/ou des résines pour former une émulsion et ladite émulsion est ensuite injectée en amont ou directement dans le réacteur slurry.
