The present invention focuses on a process for the hydrogenation of aromatic or heteroaromatic compounds and in particular on the ring hydrogenation of compounds having the formula (I). Aromatic amino acids and amino alcohols can be successfully ring-hydrogenated using a platinum-rhodium mixed catalyst. The products can be used inter alia as mimetics in bioactive peptide active ingredients.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'hydrogénation de composés aromatiques ou hétéroaromatiques, notamment d'hydrogénation cyclique de composés représentés par la formule (I). Selon l'invention, des acides aminés et des aminoalcools aromatiques peuvent être hydrogénés successivement de façon cyclique au moyen d'un catalyseur mixte platine-rhodium. Les produits peuvent entre autres être employés en tant que mimétiques dans des agents actifs à peptides bioactifs.
