Abstract of the disclosure: A process for the purification and, where appropriate, isolation and, where appropriate, pasturization of a solution of alpha2-antiplasmin is described, in which, for the purification, dialysis is carried out against an aqueous solution of Low ionic strength, and the resulting sediment is removed. For the isolation of a particularly pure antiplasmin it is furthermore possible to purify the solution by chromatography using plasminogen bound to a solid phase. Furthermore, a process for the inactivation of viruses in an antiplasmin solution by heating in the presence of stabilizers is described. Plasmin prepared in the manner described can be used for therapeutic purposes.
