Process for preparing an alkenone, which comprises (a) reacting a carboxylic acid halide with a vinyl ether by introducing vinyl ether into a liquid reaction medium containing carboxylic acid halide to form a halogenated precursor of the alkenone and (b) eliminating hydrogen halide from said precursor to form the alkenone.

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer un alcénone. Le procédé consiste à (a) faire réagir un halogénure dacide carboxylique avec un éther vinylique par lintroduction de léther vinylique dans un milieu réactionnel liquide contenant un halogénure dacide carboxylique afin de former un précurseur halogéné de lalcénone et (b) éliminer lhalogénure dhydrogène dudit précurseur afin de former lalcénone.
