ABSTRACT "PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF ALUMINIUM MONOETHYL-PHOSPHITE" The invention provides a process for the continuous manufacture of aluminium monoethyl phosphite (having fungicidal properties) which comprises, in a first stage, preparing a mixture of phosphite compounds, containing at least 70 mol % of diethyl phosphite, in a second stage saponifying and neutralising the mixture with an inorganic base, at a temperature of 20° to 85°C, and a pH of 4.0 to 8.5, optionally removing the ethanol produced by the saponification reaction continuously by distillation and in a third stage, reacting the solution of monoethyl phosphite of the inorganic base, which is continuously produced in the second stage, with a water-soluble aluminium salt in accordance with a double decomposition reaction, at a temperature of 70° to 95°C and a pH of about 3 to 4.5, and continuously withdrawing the precipitate of aluminium monoethyl phosphite which is formed.
