PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF AMMONIA ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to an improved process for the manufacture of ammonia from a gaseous mixture consisting of hydrogen and nitrogen, wherein the gaseous mixture of hydrogen is introduced into a converter for ammonia synthesis, and the effluents going out are conveyed onto a solid adsorbent wherein the formed ammonia together with some inert gases are separated from the unreacted mixture of gases. The ammonia is subsequently eliberated and condensed to a liquefied product. The process can be easily integrated with existent plants of ammonia manufacture. The process possesses a number of advantages, such as, reduced investments in equipments, substantial savings in mechanical energy, high yields of ammonia conversion per pass and less energy requirements per unit of ammonia produced.
