- 1 - HOE 82/F 012 Abstract of the disclosure A process for the manufacture of a compound of the formula Image (II) wherein X and Y are identical or different from each other and each denote hydrogen, halogen, trifluoro- methyl, C1-C6-alkoxy, C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-alkylthio, C1-C6-alkylsulfonyl, C1-C6-alkylsulfinyl, amino or nitro, which comprises a) reacting a compound of the formula XI Image (XI) wherein X is as defined above, with a phenol of the formula IV Image (IV) wherein Y is as defined above, to give a compound of the formula IX Image (IX) wherein X and Y are as defined above and b) cyclizing the compound obtained by usual methods without isolation or after isolation, which possesses analgetic,soothing,antidepressant and anticonvulsant properties.
