The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of homopolyamide-4,6 fibers by melt spinning of homopolyamide-4,6, to fibers and multifilament yarns obtainable by the process and the use thereof for the reinforcement of rubber like in tire cords, V-belts etc. The invention further relates to a novel homopolyamide-4,6, a process for the manufacture thereof and the use of the new homopolyamide-4,6 for the manufacture of fibers, films and injection molded articles. The homopolyamide-4,6 fiber is manufactured by melt spinning of homopolyamide-4,6 having nascent morphology with a melting enthalpy of at least 140 J/g and a main melting temperature between 290 and 305 ~C.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication de fibres d'homopolyamide-4,6 par filage par fusion de l'homopolyamide-4,6, à des fibres et à des fils multibrins obtenus selon ce procédé et à l'utilisation de ces derniers dans le renforcement du caoutchouc comme dans les toiles à pneus, les courroies trapézoïdales, etc. L'invention concerne également un nouveau homopolyamide-4,6, un procédé de fabrication de celui-ci et l'utilisation de ce nouveau homopolyamide-4,6 dans la fabrication de fibres, films et articles moulés par injection. La fibre d'homopolyamide-4,6 de l'invention est fabriquée par filage par fusion d'un homopolyamide-4,6 de morphologie naissante avec une enthalpie de fusion d'au moins 140 J/g et une température de fusion principale comprise entre 290 et 305 ·C.
