A B S T R A C T A process for the manufacture of synthetic fibres, in which a stretched film of a blend containing 80-99.5%w of polypropylene and 20-0.5%w of a styrene-butadiene block copolymer is subjected to a mechanical treatment to induce splitting of the stretched film. Synthetic fibres so manufactured and articles comprising such synthetic fibres.
