ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention is directed to a process for the manufacture of lump calcium sulfate dihydrate from finely divided natural or synthetic calcium sulfate dihydrate in the presence of water and characterized by the fact that the finely divided calcium sulfate which has a clear water content of up to 4 weight %, is pressed by means of a roll press using a surface pressure of 1 to 5 Mp per cm roller length.
