ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Process to improve the plastisol properties of vinyl chloride polymers manufactured using alkali metal salts of fatty acids as emulsifiers, wherein the polymerisation is carried out in an emulsion containing at least 45 per cent by weight of monomer, either discontinuously at an emulsifier content of at most 1 per cent by weight, relative to polyvinyl chloride, in polymerisation units of at least 6 m3 capacity, or continuously in the presence of at most 2 per cent by weight, relative to polyvinyl chloride, of emulsifier.
