The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of spiral bristles by extruding monofilaments. In order to provide a method with which spiral bristles can be inexpensively manufactured in the same way as conventional bristles with an identical, predeterminable quality, a monofilament having a non-circular cross-section is extruded and is prestretched after drawing off, accompanied by a reduction in its cross-section, followed by further stretch- ing, twisting to a spiral bristle material over at least part of its length and then stabilization by shrinkage. It is possible to extrude a monofilament with an oval or polygonal cross-section or having a core and at least one axially parallel rib. According to a further method, at least two monofilam- ents are prestretched on drawing off, accompanied by a reduction of their cross-section, followed by further stretching, twisting together to give a spiral bristle material and stabilization by heat shrinkage.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de soies spiralées par extrudage de monofils. Pour une fabrication économique de soies spiralées dont la qualité prédéterminable est identique à celle des soies traditionnelles, l'invention propose d'extruder un monofil de section non circulaire, de le pré-étirer pour réduire sa section à sa sortie de l'extrudeuse, puis de poursuivre son étirage. Ensuite, on le torsade sur au moins une partie de sa longueur pour former un matériau de soie spiralée et enfin on le stabilise par retrait. Ce procédé permet d'extruder un monofil de section ovale ou polygonale ou bien comportant une âme et au moins une nervure parallèle à l'axe. Selon un autre procédé, on peut envisager de pré-étirer au moins deux monofils pour réduire leur section à leur sortie de l'extrudeuse, de poursuive leur étirage, puis de les torsader ensemble pour former un matériau de soies spiralées et de les stabiliser par retrait thermique.
