The invention refers to a process for the obtainment of a catalyst useful in the isomerization of light paraffins, fundamentally based on acid treatment of a synthetic mordenite at temperatures between 40 and 100° C followed by treatment with steam-air at temperatures between 300 and 600° C which makes it possible to optimize the SiO2/Al2O3 framework ratio and the amount of extraframework aluminum of the zeolite. The mordenite thus obtained is mixed with an inorganic refractory oxide such as Al2O3 and a metal of group VIII, basically Pt, is added in an amount between 0.1 and 0.5% by weight referred to the final catalyst. The catalyst has been tested in the isomerization of light refinery fractions (C5 and C6) and has a high activity and selectivity of branched isomers with a low production of gases and a high octane number for the light gasoline obtained.
L'invention consiste en un processus permettant l'obtention d'un catalyseur utile pour l'isomérisation de paraffines légères, fondamentalement basé sur un traitement à l'acide d'un mordénite synthétique à des températures variant de 40 à 100 degrés Celcius, suivi d'un traitement à la vapeur à des températures situées entre 300 et 600 degrés Celcius, ce qui rend possible l'optimisation du rapport entre les infrastructures SiO2/Al2O3 et le niveau d'aluminium à l'extérieur de l'infrastructure de zéolite. Le mordénite ainsi obtenu est mélangé à un oxyde inorganique réfractaire tel que Al2O3 et à un métal du groupe VIII, habituellement Pt. Il est ensuite ajouté à un montant variant entre 0,1 et 0,5 % du poids appliqué au catalyseur final. Le catalyseur a été testé par l'isomérisation de fractions de rafinerie légères (C5 et C6) et possède une activité et une sélection élevées d'isomères ramifiés, une production peu élevée de gaz et un haut indice d'octane pour l'essence légère ainsi obtenue.
