Lightfast dyeings are obtained by the process for the photochemical and thermal stabilisation of undyed and dyed or printed polyester fibre materials, which comprises treating said fibre material with at least one compound of formula Image (1), wherein R1 is the radical of formula Image (2), R2 and R'2 are each independently of the other hydrogen, C1-C12alkyl, C5-C7cycloalkyl, (C1-C8alkyl)phenyl, phenyl, C7-C9phenylalkyl or C1-C4alkoxy, and R3 is hydrogen or halogen, R4 is hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl, and R5 is C1-C12alkyl, C1-C6monohaloalkyl, C1-C6dihaloalkyl, C1-C4alkenyl, C1-C4monohaloalkenyl, C5-C7cycloalkyl, phenyl; phenyl or phenyl-C1-C4alkyl, eachsubstituted by C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy or halogen, or R4 and R5, together with the linking -N-CO- radical, form a radical of formula Image (3a), Image (3b) or Image (3c), wherein n is 1, 2, 3 or 4, R6 is hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl, and R7 is hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy or halogen.
