The present invention relates to a process for maintaining a property P of a polyisobutene around a target value V during a continuous polymerisation of isobutene in a reactor containing a boiling liquid reaction phase in equilibrium with a gas phase above the said liquid phase. The process comprises continuously introducing, into the reactor, a catalyst and a C4 hydrocarbon feed and continuously withdrawing, from the reactor, the liquid reaction phase which is subsequently subjected, continuously, to at least one purification step so that to isolate the polyisobutene. The property P is chosen amongst the viscosity and the average molecular mass of the polyisobutene. The property P is maintained around the target value V (i) by measuring the isobutene partial pressure (PiC4) in the gas phase of the reactor, (ii) by calculating the isobutene concentration (CiC4R2) in the boiling liquid reaction phase by means of a first model predicting the value of CiC4R2 from the measured value of PiC4 and being based on liquid/vapour equilibrium law, (iii) by calculating an instantaneous value Pinst of the property P by means of a second model predicting the value of Pinst from the calculated value of CiC4R2 and comprising at least one function of the isobutene polymerisation kinetics, and (iv) by varying at least one process parameter so as to make the instantaneous value Pinst tend towards the target value V.
L'invention concerne un procédé servant à maintenir une propriété P d'un polyisobutène autour d'une valeur cible V pendant une polymérisation d'isobutène continue dans un réacteur contenant une phase de réaction de liquide bouillant en équilibre avec une phase gazeuse au-dessus de ladite phase liquide. Le procédé comprend d'une part, une introduction en continu, dans un réacteur, d'un catalyseur et d'une charge d'hydrocarbure C4 et, d'autre part, un retrait en continu à partir du réacteur, de la phase de réaction liquide qui est soumise, par la suite, en continu, à au moins une phase de purification afin d'isoler le polyisobutène. La propriété P est choisie parmi la viscosité et la masse moléculaire moyenne du polyisobutène. On maintient cette propriété P autour de la valeur cible V (i) en mesurant la pression partielle d'isobutène (PiC4) dans la phase gazeuse du réacteur ; (ii) en calculant la concentration d'isobutène (CiC4¿R2?) dans la phase de réaction de liquide bouillant au moyen d'un premier modèle prévoyant la valeur de CiC4¿R2? à partir de la valeur mesurée de PiC4 et en fonction de la loi de l'équilibre liquide/vapeur ; (iii) en calculant une valeur instantanée Pinst de la propriété P au moyen d'un second modèle prévoyant la valeur de Pinst à partir de la valeur calculée de CiC4¿R2? et comprenant au moins une fonction de la cinétique de polymérisation d'isobutène, et (iv) en variant au moins un paramètre du procédé afin de faire tendre la valeur instantanée Pinst vers la valeur cible V.
