In gas phase polymerizations and copolymerizations of ethylene, regents or cofeeds control the molecular weight, expressed as MI (wherein MI is measured according to ASTM D-1238 Condition E), of the resin product. Use of isopentane and electron donating compounds reduce MI; whereas, water and electron withdrawing compounds increase MI.
Au cours des polymérisations et des copolymérisations en phase gazeuse d'éthylène, des réactifs ou des charges d'alimentation conjointes permettent de réguler le poids moléculaire du produit résineux, exprimé sous forme de l'indice de fusion MI (MI étant mesuré selon l'ASTM D-1238, condition E). L'utilisation d'isopentane et de composés donneurs d'électrons permet de réduire la valeur MI, tandis que l'utilisation d'eau et de composés enlevant des électrons permet d'accroître la valeur MI.
