A process for the preparation of a visco-elastic foam having a density from 50 to 100 kg/m3 involving reacting an isocyanate component having a functionality from 2.1 to 2.7 of general formula (I): wherein .PHI. represents a phenyl group and n is an integer greater than or equal to 1 with a polyol component comprising 80 to 100 % by weight of a bifunctional polyol polyether having an average molecular weight from 1000 to 4000, 0 to 5 % by weight of a monofunctional alcohol, 0 to 20 % by weight of a polyol having a functionality equal to or greater than three and an average molecular weight from 92 to 4000.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de mousse visco-élastique de masse volumique allant de 50 à 100 kg/m?3¿, selon lequel il est prévu de faire réagir un composé isocyanate de fonctionnalité de l'ordre de 2,1 à 2,7 de formule générale (I) dans laquelle .PHI. désigne un groupe phényle et n désigne un nombre entier supérieur ou égal à 1 avec un composé polyol comprenant entre 80 et 100 % en poids d'un polyéther de polyol bifonctionnel de poids moléculaire moyen compris entre 1.000 et 4.000, entre 0 et 5 % en poids d'un alcool monofonctionnel, entre 0 et 20 % en poids d'un polyol ayant une fonctionnalité supérieure ou égale à trois et un poids moléculaire moyen compris entre 92 et 4.000.
