Process for the preparation of 1-[cyano (phenyl) methyl] cyclohexanol compounds of general formula (I) in which R1 is hydrogen, (C1-4) alkyl or (C1- 4) alkoxy, wherein a compound of general formula (II) in which R1 is as defined above, is reacted with cyclohexanone, the reaction being carried out in the presence of an organic or inorganic base, and this organic or inorganic base being present in the reaction mixture in at least an equimolar amount, based on the amount of the compound of general formula (II) .

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de composés de 1-[cyano (phenyl) methyl] cyclohexanol de formule générale (I), où R1 représente l'hydrogène, (C1-4) alkyl ou (C1-4) alkoxy; où un composé de formule générale (II) dans laquelle R1 est tel que défini précédemment, est mis en réaction avec de la cyclohexanone, la réaction se produisant en présence d'une base organique ou inorganique, et cette base organique ou inorganique étant présente dans le mélange de réaction en au moins une quantité équimolaire, basée sur la quantité du composé de formule générale (II).
