Abstract "PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF .alpha. -N-[HYPOXANTHIN-9-YL)- PENTYLOXYCARBONYL]-ARGININE" The .alpha.-N-[(hypoxanthin-9-yl)-pentyloxycarbonyl]-argi- nine of formula I: (I) Image endowed with immunomodulating activity, is advantageously obtained by acylating N7-nitroarginine with (hypoxanthin- 9-yl)pentyloxycarbonylchloride, and subsequent elimination of the nitro group by means of hydrogenolysis.
