- 1 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is described for the preparation of 2- alkenyl 1,1,2-trifluoro-2-halogenoethyl ethers by reac- ting optionally substituted allyl alcohols with fluoro- olefins in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide as catalyst, in which the reaction is carried out by inti- mately mixing the reactants with an N,N-dialkylcarboxylic acid amide. The said ethers are suitable as interme- diate products for the preparation of addition products by the addition of alcohols, primary or secondary amines or R3SiH compounds, and are also suitable as comonomers for fluorine-containing copolymers.
