L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de 2,5-bis(2,2,2-trifluoroéthoxy)-N-(2-pipéridylméthyl)benzamide, de ses sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables et de produits intermédiaires importants correspondants, consistant à utiliser des 1,4-dihalotoluènes comme produit de départ. Ledit procédé fait appel à une technique destinée à préparer le produit de départ 2,5-bis(2,2,2-trifluroéthoxy)toluène avec des rendements élevés, par réaction de 1,4-dibromotoluène avec du 2,2,2-trifluoroéthanol en présence d'une base et d'un catalyseur contenant du cuivre.
