Abstract of the disclosure: The invention relates to a process for the pre- paration of 3-alkylaminophenols by catalytic dehydrogena- tion of 3-alkylamino-2-cyclohexenones. The dehydrogenation reaction is carried out in the gas phase at 200 to 500°C and 0.1 to 10 bar. The catalyst used is preferably a noble metal of the 8th group, in particular palladium, which is applied to a support material.
